In 1916, the “Golden Flyer” rolled into Trenton on a 10,700-mile drive for suffrage. Over a century later, the mission remains.

NJ NOW President Jill LaZare and our members recently gathered in the capital to mark a new milestone for the Equal Rights Amendment. The event featured the presentation of the ERA Champions Award to Mayor Reed Gusciora, recognizing his support for the U.S. Conference of Mayors ERA resolution. After signing the national petition for the 28th Amendment, the Mayor took the wheel of the Golden Flyer II, symbolizing a city—and a movement—that refuses to sit still until equality is constitutional.
